Music therapy in care settings
The approach: Le Chant des Possibles
Le Chant des Possibles is a music therapy programme that has been running for over fifteen years.
Every group is unique. Rather than following a fixed model, each workshop is designed around the needs of the people taking part, allowing time to reflect, connect and grow.
Sessions combine active and receptive music therapy. Playing, singing, improvising, listening, composing and songwriting all become ways of taking part and building relationships.
The aim is to encourage participation, meaningful connection and new opportunities for self-expression.
“Desire is the means; pleasure is the goal.”
Therapeutic aims
Music has its own language. It can support people experiencing communication difficulties, social isolation or cognitive and mental health challenges.
- Encourage social interaction
- Develop creativity
- Strengthen self-esteem
- Support emotional awareness
- Reduce stress and promote calm
- Build meaningful connections

What does a workshop look like?
Guitars, piano, percussion, voice and many other instruments offer different ways of engaging with music.
No musical experience is required. Everyone takes part in their own way, whether by playing, singing or simply listening.
Working as a group never loses sight of each person's individuality.
Music creates an opportunity for each participant to be recognised within the shared experience of the group.
Working with your team
The content, frequency and duration of the programme are developed together with your team according to the people you support, your therapeutic objectives and the organisation's needs. An initial meeting allows us to design a framework tailored to your setting.
